Frank has crafted a truly incredible private safari showcasing all the hotspots and highlight of northern Tanzania. This journey takes you to environmentally friendly camps, which try to minimize their impacts on the environments, yet are still situated in mind-blowing locations with outstanding access to wildlife. The safari has no over-the-top luxuries or frills, just pure quality of the safari experience.
The safari starts off from a comfortable first night spent in Arusha, then moves off to a remote corner of the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park where the camps location alone will leave you breathless. Then moving on to a half day drive through the renowned Ngorongoro Crater to find the big5 before heading to Mysigio Camp where you will be immersed in a Maasai cultural experience. Then, on a series of day-long unforgettable game viewing trips, make your way through the Serengeti National Park to the very north. From here set out each day to the Mara River where you will patiently wait in anticipation for the thousands of wildebeest to cross the Mara River, often described as the ‘greatest show on earth’. After all of these incredible experiences, hop on a scenic flight back over the Serengeti and Ngorongoro to Arusha for a last evening in a stunning lodge.

Detailed itinerary
1st night: Katambuga House
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be collected by a driver and transported to Katambuga house for a relaxing first night to recover from the travel.
Katambuga House is an elegant and stylish 6 room lodge set in expansive grounds, on the Endurance Estate near Arusha. With attention to detail, caring staff and excellent dining, Katambuga house is a destination in its own right.
2nd & 3rd Nights: Manyara Green Camp
En-route from Arusha experience a cultural village tour in Mto Wa Mbu. This can be done on bicycle, on foot or by tuk-tuk and is a highly recommended experience. Then entering the Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive towards Manyara Green Camp which is located in a remote section of the park.
The camp itself is very stylish and comfortable with accommodation being in the form of 4m across bell tents on raised decking. Each contains double beds, linen bedding, chairs, luggage racks and an attached large bathroom with a hot shower. With only 5 bell tents the camp normally sleeps a mere 10 guests, although it is possible to accommodate 3 per tent on request.
4th Night: Mysigio Camp
A half day Crater game drive is sure to be a magical experience. The Crater has some of the highest densities of wildlife of anywhere in the world and contains all members of the Big5. After this drive, a mere 20-minute drive through Maasai villages sees you arriving at Mysigio Camp.
The camps location is magnificent, set off the main road, in the heart of ‘Maasai country’ with ancient forests and great views overlooking rolling hills. The Ngorongoro Highlands is Maasai Country and the camp gives a unique and authentic look into some intriguing aspects of this ancient culture.
5th Night: Banagi Green Camp
Embark on a full-day game drive from the Ngorongoro highlands to central Serengeti and Banagi Camp.
The camp itself is very stylish and comfortable with accommodation being in the form of 4m across bell tents. Each contains double beds, linen bedding, chairs, luggage racks and an attached large bathroom with a hot shower. With only 5 bell tents the camp normally sleeps a mere 10 guests, although it is possible to accommodate 3 per tent on request.
6th, 7th & 8th Nights: Kogatende Green Camp
Another full-day game drive from Banagi Camp into Northern Serengeti sees you arriving at Kogatende Green Camp. This will be your base for the next three night as you witness to the incredible wildebeest migration. Attempts will be made to view them crossing the Mara River, however it’s important to note that they cross unpredictably.
The camp itself is very stylish and comfortable with accommodation being in the form of 10 spacious square tents. Each contains double beds, linen bedding, outdoor chairs, luggage racks and an attached large bathroom with a hot bucket shower system. With 10 tents the camp normally sleeps 20 guests, although it is possible to accommodate 3 per tent on request.
9th Night: Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge
After a breakfast at Kogatende Green camp, set out for a game drive transfer to Kogatende airstrip and fly to Arusha. Then a short transport to Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Ngare Sero is perfectly positioned with its lush gardens set amongst a forest on the slopes of Mount Meru. The lodge has been adapted from an early colonial farmhouse which was built in the early 20th century. The lodges grounds include its own crystal-clear natural spring from which it creates its own hydropower and also supply’s nearby villages with piped water.
