Bush Ways Mababe Tented Camp

Opening its canvas doors in April 2026, Mababe Tented Camp is a seasonal safari camp set deep within the Mababe Private Concession. It remains open from April to December, offering guests a front-row seat to this pristine wilderness.

The camp sits directly along the Khwai River. As a result, wildlife regularly passes through camp. Elephants wander by. Birds call from the reeds. Meanwhile, the open tented main area creates a welcoming space to relax, dine, and reflect on the day’s sightings.

With just eight Meru tents and a maximum of sixteen guests, the experience feels personal and unhurried. Importantly, the camp is fully solar-powered, with a back-up generator, and designed to leave zero footprint. Here, simplicity is the luxury.

Experiences & Activities:

From Mababe Tented Camp, exploration begins gently and unfolds naturally. Guided game drives reveal the concession’s rich mix of habitats, from floodplains to woodlands and open grasslands.

In addition, river-based activities, including mokoro excursions, allow guests to experience the landscape from a different perspective. Wildlife encounters are frequent and rewarding, especially with elephants, predators, and abundant birdlife.

Thanks to its location between Khwai and Savuti, the area offers excellent diversity. Yet, the sense of space and silence remains rare and deeply restorative.

Accommodation:

Accommodation consists of eight classic Meru tents, each thoughtfully placed along the riverfront. Every tent includes an en-suite bathroom with indoor shower, ensuring comfort without losing the connection to nature.

Tents are available in twin or double configurations. This makes the camp suitable for solo travellers, couples, friends, and small families. Additional touches include fans, hot water bottles for cooler evenings, a safe, and extra bedding on request.

The overall design is simple, elegant, and purposeful. Nothing distracts from the wilderness beyond the canvas walls.
