Overlooking endless ocean vistas, a laid-back atmosphere and only an hour’s boat ride away from the capital Maputo, Machangulo Beach Lodge is the ideal beach add-on after your adventurous Safari holiday in South Africa.

Located on a secluded coastline in southern Mozambique, Machangulo Beach Lodge is located at the centre of 5 nature reserves, the channel between Inhaca Island and the dunes of the Santa Maria Peninsula. The lodge is nestled on a hillside in dense evergreen thickets, featuring 14 private chalets. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning, mosquito net and private deck. Choose to stay in either Premium Ocean View Rooms perched high on the hillside with phenomenal views, Beach Forest Rooms ideal for large groups and families or Villas with partial ocean views.

Machangulo Beach Lodge’s main building offers a large lounge with bar and dining area, a beach bar as well as a pool and deck near the beach. A Boma area behind the main building invites to spend evenings at an open fire, while enjoying the tranquil Mozambican nights. Local Portuguese-inspired cuisine, sourced from the surrounding markets, are the restaurant’s speciality.

There are plenty of activities on offer while staying at the Lodge. The most popular ones include scuba diving, offshore fishing, dhow sailing safaris, endless walks along the pristine beach, swimming, Inhaca Island picnics and village tours. Machangulo Beach Lodge has a full activity centre with knowledgeable staff and plenty of equipment. All guided, specialist and motorized activities are at an additional cost.
