Arathusa Safari Lodge holds a highly sought-after position in the northern Sabi Sand Reserve, directly bordering the unfenced Kruger National Park. Together, these wilderness areas form one of South Africa’s most pristine and wildlife-rich ecosystems. As a result, guests enjoy exceptional game viewing in a landscape where animals move freely and naturally.

In particular, Arathusa is renowned for its outstanding leopard sightings. This reputation, combined with a warm and intimate lodge atmosphere, makes it a firm favourite for safari enthusiasts.

Arathusa Safari Lodge offers a classic safari experience in a truly exceptional location. The lodge sits beside a permanent waterhole, which regularly attracts a wide variety of wildlife throughout the day. Consequently, guests often enjoy game viewing without leaving the lodge.

The open-plan design creates a natural flow between indoor and outdoor living spaces. Neutral tones, organic textures, and natural materials allow the lodge to blend effortlessly into the surrounding bush. Both the indoor and outdoor lounges, dining areas, and infinity swimming pool overlook the waterhole, ensuring the safari experience remains ever present.

In addition, the lodge maintains an intimate atmosphere, making it ideal for travellers seeking a personal and immersive safari.

Experiences & Activities:

Arathusa offers twice-daily game drives in open safari vehicles. Morning and afternoon drives explore the Sabi Sand Reserve in search of the Big Five and a wide variety of plains game and birdlife. Due to the area’s rich wildlife density, sightings are frequent and rewarding.

For those who prefer a more active experience, guided bush walks provide a deeper understanding of the smaller details of the ecosystem. Bird watching is excellent throughout the year, while leisurely moments at the lodge often include wildlife sightings at the waterhole during high tea.

Guests can also unwind at the Safari Spa, which offers a selection of treatments using natural spa products. Couples treatments are available, adding an extra layer of indulgence to the safari experience.
