A lodge on the very edge of the Fish River Canyon – a place so quiet, even your thoughts whisper.

Fish River Lodge is the only accommodation directly located on the very edge of the Fish River Canyon, the second-largest canyon in the world! Making the most of the beautiful vistas, the lodge has been built in harmony with its stark, striking surroundings. Completed in 2009, all the buildings that make up the lodge pay tribute to the amazing landscape, offering spectacular views of the Fish River Canyon reflecting the unique beauty of its location. The access road to the lodge is an adventurous path through river beds and across open plains edged with mountains, where you may glimpse kudu and ostrich. Once you pass through the doors of the Fish River Lodge the dramatic landscape explodes in full view!

Twenty private chalets are dotted along the edge of the canyon perfectly located for guests to fully enjoy the breathtaking vista. Each room is equipped with comfortable double beds, en-suite bathrooms, a private outdoor shower and decks overlook the canyon. The beds have been carefully placed to allow guests a prime spot to gaze over the majestic canyon. If you want to be even closer, the outdoor platform also allows sleeping under the stars on warm nights!

The main building fades in perfectly with its stark surroundings. Candlelight dinners are served in the dining area and a rim pool with spacious wooden deck is ideal for relaxing and outdoor eating.

Fish River Lodge participates in the Namibia Eco Awards program, an initiative that ensures that the impact of tourism on sensitive, arid environments are kept to a minimum. Sustainability is a key consideration for all future developments on the property.

The Lodge’s activities are focused on the land and its inhabitants. Guests can explore the canyon by vehicle, bike or on foot. Hiking packages are offered exclusively to its guests. For guests staying two or more nights at sleepout in the canyon can be arranged, pure magic! If you want something more relaxing, spa treatments are available or experience the magical light during a sundowner drive.
