Kruger Shalati is a remarkable safari lodge positioned on the historic Selati Bridge above the Sabie River in Kruger National Park. Here, history and luxury combine in a truly memorable setting.
Originally, early visitors travelled through the park by train during the 1920s. At night, the train would stop on the Selati Bridge so guests could safely rest above the river. Today, Kruger Shalati recreates this historic experience while offering modern comfort and refined design.
The luxury train stands permanently on the bridge where those early journeys once paused. As a result, guests enjoy a rare opportunity to stay suspended above one of the park’s most active wildlife areas.
Furthermore, floor-to-ceiling glass walls allow guests to observe wildlife throughout the day. Elephants, crocodiles and hippos are frequently seen moving along the riverbanks below.
Inside the train, local art and African craftsmanship add warmth and character to the interiors. At the same time, the design maintains a refined atmosphere that reflects the spirit of modern safari travel.
In addition, a suspended deck runs alongside the train and features a striking swimming pool. From here, guests can relax while watching wildlife activity unfold beneath the bridge.
Overall, Kruger Shalati blends heritage, design and exceptional wildlife viewing in one unforgettable safari location.
