Simbavati River Lodge sits along the Nhlaralumi River in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve. This prime position within the Greater Kruger ecosystem ensures exceptional wildlife movement throughout the year.

A standout feature is the waterhole below the dining deck. Elephants and other wildlife gather here daily. Therefore, guests often enjoy remarkable sightings without leaving the lodge.

Simbavati River Lodge blends traditional safari style with modern comfort. Open air lounge and dining areas connect seamlessly with the surrounding bush. As a result, guests remain immersed in nature throughout their stay.

The lodge offers twice daily game drives led by experienced guides and Shangaan trackers. Off road tracking allows closer encounters when appropriate. In addition, guided bush walks reveal the finer details of the ecosystem.

Between activities, guests may relax at the safari spa or maintain routines in the fitness centre. Children can enjoy supervised activities through the Cubs Club. Consequently, the lodge suits couples and families alike.

Experiences & Activities:

Game drives depart in the early morning and late afternoon. These times align with peak wildlife activity. An English speaking guide partners with a local Shangaan tracker on every drive. Together, they combine experience and fresh observations to maximise sightings.

Guests travel in open sided 4×4 safari vehicles with tiered seating. Vehicles generally carry a maximum of eight guests. This setup ensures safe and immersive wildlife encounters.

In summer, a shade cover protects against the sun. During winter, the vehicle remains open for clear skies and stargazing.

Accommodation:

Tented Pool Suite (2 Tents): These suites sit in a more secluded location. Each suite features a king sized bed or twin beds. A private deck includes a plunge pool and game viewing space.

The spacious ensuite bathroom includes a double vanity, indoor shower, enclosed toilet, and dressing area. Doors lead to an outdoor rain shower and pool area.

Luxury Safari Tent with Pool (6 Tents): Six luxury safari tents offer river or bush views. Each tent includes a king sized bed or twin beds. A private deck features a plunge pool for relaxed afternoons.

Bathrooms include a shower, double vanity, enclosed toilet, and outdoor rain shower. Ample storage and a dressing area enhance comfort.

Two Bedroom Family Chalet (3 Chalets): Each chalet includes a main bedroom with king sized bed and a second bedroom with twin beds. The shared bathroom offers a bath and double indoor rain shower. Please note that access to the bathroom is through one bedroom.

A private deck overlooks the river, creating a peaceful family setting.
