La Digue Island Lodge has a unique beachside setting on La Digue boasting magnificent vistas of the neighbouring islands and beautiful crystalline waters where colourful sunsets paint the skies on a daily basis. The Lodge offers a variety of unique accommodations to suit any holiday preference.

The various room types and common areas are strewn over large, landscaped grounds, retaining a low impact feel. Accommodation is available in a variety of guest rooms, chalets, and beach houses which feature modern amenities:

  • Garden & Seaview Chalet: Situated along the beach and in the seclusion of the garden, the detached A-Frame chalets with semi-open bathrooms are built from local Takamaka wood a distinctive steep pitched roof.
  • Beach House Rooms: The Beach House rooms are located on two levels in a traditional Creole Plantation house right by the beach.
  • Standard Garden Rooms: These well-appointed terrace style rooms are located in a peaceful garden setting behind the Beach House.
  • L’Union Beach Bungalow: These bungalows are located in the L’Union Estate Park, adjacent to the famous “Anse Source d’Argent” beach.
  • Yellow House: The house has nine double-bed guest rooms each with a spiral staircase leading down to a spacious bathroom with separate bath, shower and bidet.
  • Gregoire: Enjoy the comfort and convenience of this centrally located small hotel. Gregoire’s is situated in the heart of the Anse Reunion village.

The spa at La Digue Island Lodge offers a variety of massages, from Balinese massage to aromatherapy deep tissue massage and a range of other treatment in a very peaceful and relaxed environment. The products are exclusively made from local organic products.

Excursions and activities on offer at the Lodge are:

  • Visit the famous isolated beaches of la Digue by trail and have your private picnic on the virgin beach of Anse Cocos. The spectacular bays along the Anse Cocos trail encompass the stunning beaches of Grand Anse, Petite Anse and Anse Cocos. The 45-minite trail take you through some amazing landscapes and the beaches offer a small, secluded natural pool among the rocks that is quite romantic. For those eager to discover Seychelles by foot, La Digue is probably the best island on which to do so.
  • Other excursions that can be arranged on request are snorkelling, fishing, tour around la Digue by boat or by bus and sunset tours.
  • Fish is a central part of traditional Seychellois cuisine and Seychellois have been expert fishermen for as long as the islands have been inhabited, ensuring that the dish of the day is always fresh from the sea. The warm waters of the vast western Indian Ocean supply a myriad range of fish and fishing opportunities to the enthusiastic angler, allowing a fishing trip off La Digue to be everything from a one-off day trip to a week-long ocean-going adventure!
  • Azure Dive Centre at the Lodge is the island’s only diving centre located in a hotel. It is staffed by professional and knowledgeable PADI certified instructors. It is the base from where diving enthusiasts can explore world class diving sites in the vicinity of La Digue and the surrounding island.

Long been the pride of place of the authentic La Digue Lodge gastronomic experience, chef Dominique has put together an array of delicacies with traditional menus based on the ingredients that he has sourced out from organic producers and local farmers. The Lodge features two restaurants:

  • The Marmit Restaurant: Set right on the beachfront, the main restaurant offers one of the most memorable dining experiences. With the sound of lapping waves, it is the perfect venue for an early morning breakfast. The dusk atmosphere is infused with stunning sunsets and candle lit tables looking onto the moonlit ocean adds a romantic touch to the evenings. “Marmit” Restaurant caters for a variety of cuisines with various themed buffets and delectable ‘table d’hôte” menus with live entertainment by local folkloric groups at least three times a week.
  • Marlin” Poolside Snack Bar & Sea View Pool Terrace: Set next to the magnificent pool this outlet service lunchtime snacks such as salads, sandwiches, burgers and the Seaview terrace is the perfect meeting point for a sundowner, the unique Badamier tree provides ample shade for an al-fresco daytime dining experience.
  • The Vye Bar & Old Bar: This comfortable and stylish bar looking out to the sea and lobby provides guests with an alternative space to relax before and after their evening meals. The furniture and decor enhance the rustic feel providing an atmosphere of the bygone colonial days. The old bar is located close to the reception area.
  • The Beach Bar: A feet-in-the sand setting by the beach catering for all guests lazing away by the beach. Serving grills, salads, ice cream, fresh coconuts and a variety of drinks, it is the perfect spot for al-fresco lunches.

La Digue boast some of the most famous and photographed beaches in the world, but some beaches experience strong, seasonal currents and powerful waves. Beaches where extra caution should be taken are clearly marked with warning signs. When visiting these beaches please take a moment to read the signs and follow the instructions given.
