Cederberg Region

"Rugged and Wild Mountains, with plenty of History to Explore!"

The Cederberg region lies only two hours from the bustling ‘Mother City’ of Cape Town, and yet the landscape is completely different: wilder, warmer with a raw, dramatic beauty.

The Cederberg region is both varied and wild, with so much to discover!

Clanwilliam and Citrusdal, with their towering mountains, brilliant purple and orange sunsets, are laden with the scent of orange blossoms, during the spring time. Lambertsbaai and Elandsbaai, each offer perfect waves for surfing, paired with plenty of open-air restaurants, serving only the best of the local seafood, and furthermore offer an abundance of bird life. Wupperthal and Elandskloof, both missionary villages situated within these magnificent mountains, offer a wealth of history to be discovered.

Enjoy the beauty of the Cederberg in your own way: walk in the mountains, with not a single other person in sight, enjoy bouldering and climbling at Rocklands, go and discover the abundant bird life of the region, or get your surf on along the beautiful unspoilt coastline! Swim in the clear mountain rock pools or marvel at the delicate Bushmen rock art, within the caves of the mountains. Alternatively, this region allows you to simply relax and enjoy the exhilarating peace that can be found, within this unspoilt mountain-paradise.

The Cederberg Region has an exceptional botanical diversity. As part of the Cape Floral Kingdom of South Africa, farmers cultivate the world-famous Rooibos Tea here, among the twisted rock formations of the region.
