The journey through Tanzania’s north begins at Africa’s most famous mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival, the initial destination is Arusha, a charming lodge with a view of Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest mountain. With luck, one might come across a cheetah or a leopard resting in a tree during the day. Crocodiles and hippos can be observed in or near the rivers. The expansive savannahs serve as the backdrop for one of the world’s largest animal migrations, with wildebeest herds, accompanied by zebras, gazelles, and antelopes, attracting predators like lions, hyenas, and cheetahs in search of prey.

Tarangire National Park, known for its diverse landscape, boasts a significant elephant population. The iconic Baobab tree, Tanzania’s most famous tree, stands majestically in the park, while palms and acacias line the Tarangire River, providing a picturesque setting to observe a multitude of animals. In addition to elephants, the park is renowned for its massive herds of buffalo, numbering up to 1000 animals.
