Experience & Activities
Chameleon Hill Lodge is perched high atop a hill, overlooking Lake Mutanda in South Western Uganda. Inside, a spacious dining area, with the adjacent wooden deck on top of the hill, offers a bird’s eye view over the lake and beyond. The walls are decorated with colorful art and for those chilly evenings there is a romantic fireplace to make sure the ambience is perfect.
There are many exciting wildlife activities on offer here, from gorilla tracking to bird watching to golden monkey tracking. Tracking endangered mountain gorillas remains one of the undisputed highlights of any visit to Africa. Meeting these gentle giants deep in the African rainforests can only be described as an emotionally overwhelming and awe-inspiring experience. Gorilla tracking in Uganda is possible in Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga Gorilla National Parks. Chameleon Hill is your perfect gorilla tracking base, located exactly between those two.
Other optional activities include cultural activities with traditional Batwa people, walks, hikes, mountain biking, canoeing, and even volcano climbing.
