Why we like it
- Stunning view over the Lango Baï from Camp.
- Get in touch with this pristine landscape by getting wet and muddy on foot, or seek drier adventures in the forests that surround the bai.
- Combines well with sister camps in the various packages.
Lango Camp, on the edge of Lango Baï, offers one of the most arresting views of any camp in Africa. A magnetic attraction for huge flocks of Green Pigeons and African Grey Parrots as well as herds of Forest Buffalo and Forest Elephants, wraparound walkways and elevated chalets maximise the views.
Lango Baï, a natural, swampy clearing in the forest with large deposits of minerals, holds a magnetic attraction for huge flocks of African green pigeons and African grey parrots, as well as for herds of forest buffalo by day and forest elephants by night. For bird watchers it offers excellent opportunities to watch forest birds, which curiously are not particularly wary of humans walking 3-4 m above ground level.
Lango Camp’s six guest chalets have been strategically placed on the edge of Lango Baï with views out onto the open baï, one of the most arresting views of any camp in Africa. The chalets are constructed from natural materials such as locally woven raffia palm panels and stand on stilts above the ground. Complete with mosquito nets and en-suite bathrooms with hot shower and flush toilet, the chalets boast an elevated 360° wraparound walkway with views of the forest and sprawling baï.
Explore the baï, Lekoli River and surrounding areas with long and short walks through the various biomes. Prepare to get a little wet, a little muddy and have an adventure as we explore in the footsteps of great explorers and unearth the history and heritage of the area!
