Makanyi Private Game Lodge offers guests exceptional privacy in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. Only a few vehicles operate across a vast wilderness area. As a result, each sighting feels exclusive and unrushed.

The Main Lodge provides a peaceful retreat between game drives. A beautifully positioned deck overlooks the dam, where wildlife gathers daily. Here, guests can relax with a drink and observe natural encounters. Alternatively, they can socialise and share stories after each safari.

Twice daily game drives form the highlight of every stay. In addition, guided bush walks offer a closer connection to the landscape. Fishing excursions take place at selected dams, often near resident hippos. As evening arrives, guides introduce guests to the Southern Hemisphere constellations.

The lodge also features a fully equipped gym. During warmer hours, the pool offers refreshing relief. Later, the hot tub provides warmth under cooler night skies. Spa treatments are available in-suite or in the dedicated massage area. Furthermore, the team can arrange visits to nearby attractions on request.

Children policy:
Children from 14 years are welcome. Younger children are permitted only with exclusive use of the lodge.

Luxury Suites: Seven Luxury Suites overlook the magnificent dam. Each suite offers generous space and seamless indoor outdoor flow. Interiors include an extra-large bed and a lounge area with gas fireplace. The bathroom features a separate bath and spacious shower. Outside, a private deck includes loungers and an outdoor shower. Amenities include Premium Healing Earth products, WiFi, minibar, Nespresso machine, safe, and tea facilities.
Marula Suite: The Marula Suite features two bedrooms and sleeps up to four guests. It suits families, friends, or couples seeking added privacy. The suite sits away from the main lodge. Each bedroom includes an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. A dining room and kitchen add flexibility. The living room opens onto a large deck. Outside, guests enjoy a private pool and boma area.
Luxury Pool Suites: Two Luxury Pool Suites sit furthest from the main lodge. Therefore, they offer enhanced privacy. Each suite includes a private plunge pool overlooking the dam. Interiors feature an extra-large bed and a lounge with gas fireplace. Bathrooms include a bath, shower, and outdoor shower. Amenities mirror the Luxury Suites and include WiFi, minibar, and Nespresso machine.
