Why we like it
- Right on the edge of the wilderness zone where walking safaris can be conducted.
- Still within a reasonable distance for viewing the wildebeest crossing the Mara river.
- Eco-friendly camp which tries to minimize impact on the environment.
- Simple and very comfortable accommodation – nothing flash.
Located right on the edge of the Northern Serengeti Wilderness zone, this camp is further away from the Mara river to ensure a peaceful experience, yet still within reach of the crossing points for those interested.

Located in the Kogatende area between July – October / November which means you are always in the very best location to get close to the magic of the migration and all the wildlife action..
The camp is located in a beautiful area in the Nyamalumbwa Hills. Set on the banks of the Bologonja river and a salt lick which are teaming with wildlife all year long. The camp is in reach of the Mara River (2 hour game drive) where you can witness one of nature’s spectacles, the wildebeest and zebra river crossings of the Great Migration. The camp is on the edge of the wilderness zones, away from the hustle and bustle of other camps, cars and people but close enough not to miss the crossings when they occur. Kogatende Green Camp offers a peaceful, remote location from which to enjoy the best the Serengeti has to offer in wildlife sightings.
The camp itself comprises of 10 square en-suite tents. Each tent can be set up as double, twin or triple for families. With cosy beds, stylish interiors and outdoor seating to relax on, each tent has been cleverly designed to offer the greatest comfort with minimum impact to the environment. Simple luxuries, comfy beds, crisp linens, and classic bucket bush showers ensure you can relax and wind down after a full day enjoying the wildlife. The stylish central mess tent has lounge chairs and a small library so you can relax in complete comfort during the day.
All meals are simply done with delicious home cooked 3 course suppers, cooked on the open fires served to your table under the stars. Meals are usually taken in a sociable communal style. Private dining areas with fireplace and butler can be set up for a special occasion.
The camp is designed to be environmentally sustainable with impact on the environment minimised where ever possible. It is 100% plastic free, uses solar lanterns, recycles and much more.
