- Strong emphasis on eco-friendly projects.
- Classic old colonial feeling and history.
Located in dense and lush forests, Ngare Sero is an old colonial style farmhouse that has been providing excellent service for nearly 50 years and is the perfect base for safaris in northern Tanzania.
Ngare Sero is perfectly positioned with its lush gardens set amongst a forest on the slopes of Mount Meru. The lodge has been adapted from an early colonial farmhouse which was built in the early 20th century. The lodges grounds include its own crystal-clear natural spring from which it creates its own hydropower and also supply’s nearby villages with piped water.
The lodge has a mixture of accommodation options on offer, with the first being the main house rooms which are located on the first floor of the main building. These rooms keep to their colonial past in style with olden day bathtubs and other amenities, yet still retain the comforts of modern-day hotels. The second room type are the garden rooms which are positioned a short walk from the main area and have a more Zanzibar cultural styling to them. Also on offer is the Farm cottage which is a private villa that can sleep 5 people in its two bedrooms, perfect for family’s traveling.
Ngare Sero also has the following activities on offer which make it much more than a simple stopover before or after a safari: Nature walks in the forest, bird watching, horse riding (they have their own horses and stables), boating, yoga, mountain biking and croquet.
