Shametu River Lodge provides a unique location in Namibia’s Caprivi region. Guests can relax on the spacious sun deck and experience the tranquillity of the Kavango River. Adding to its prime location, this lodge also offers a variety of activities, a very personal service with devoted owners and an excellent restaurant.

Shametu River Lodge is situated on the banks of the Okavango River and boasts spectacular views of Popa Falls. The lodge features 11 luxury chalets embedded between lush trees and facing the riverside. Each chalet is tastefully decorated and has a private bathroom, a mosquito net, a coffee station, and a lounge area. In addition, guests can also choose to stay in one of the Luxury Tents, which are constructed on stilts on the banks of the Okavango River and enjoy spectacular views of Popa Falls. The high-quality permanent tents are uniquely furnished and equipped with the same amenities as the chalets.

The main area of the lodge offers the reception, bar & lounge area, and a restaurant, where guests can enjoy delightful variation of excellent meals. The large sun terrace is built on stilts directly at the river front and offers an excellent view over the Okavango. The adjoining swimming pool is inviting for refreshment.

Two parks, that are part of the Bwabwata National Park, are easily accessible from the lodge: Mahango Game Park and Buffalo Core Area. Shametu River Lodge welcomes you with an impressive range of activities. Go on a game drive in the Mahango National Park, whose vegetation is characterised by the flood plains of the Okavango River, bush land and a variety of baobabs. During a boat trip on the Okavango River, some species of animals will cross your path and you will experience the unique flair of this region with all its voices, sounds and noises in incredible intensity.
