Camp Doros, perched high above a typically dry riverbed, offers an unmatched experience. Seek the desert-adapted black rhino with a qualified Rhino Ranger team, indulge in gourmet meals prepared sustainably, or simply relax by the plunge pool. The heart of the camp revolves around personalized service and immersive explorations of Damaraland.

From the comfort of your tent, wake up to sweeping views of the Mopane forests and the breathtaking landscapes of the Doros Joint Management Area. Spend your days searching for black rhino, going on nature drives, walking the rugged terrains, or exploring rock engravings. For extended stays, seek the desert-adapted elephant or just soak in the beauty of the surroundings. With 100% solar power and a separate Wi-Fi lounge, the camp effortlessly blends luxury with sustainability.

Venturing to Camp Doros is made convenient with a local airstrip at Onduli Airstrip. The 75-minute nature drive into camp commences daily at 15h00. Self-drivers can access the camp from the Onduli Airstrip pick-up point, with clear directions provided upon booking confirmation. Additional pick-up options are available for fly-in guests, and a waiting lounge with ablutions is strategically located at the Onduli Airstrip pick-up point.

 

Area: Camp Doros is the jewel of the Doros Joint Management Area, a sprawling 19,000-hectare concession marked by semi-arid mountainous savanna. Interspersed with wooded ephemeral river valleys, the region offers unparalleled views. The presence of natural springs ensures a thriving wildlife ecosystem. From desert-adapted elephants to the plains game like kudus, giraffes, and oryx, the area is a biodiversity hotspot. Predators like the cheetah, leopard, and hyenas add to the thrill of the wilderness.

  • Guest Tents: Elevated on platforms, six shaded tents ensure serene views and intimate experiences. Among them, one is specially designed for families. The en-suite facilities feature hot running showers and flush toilets. Adding to the luxury is the in-tent 220V charging stations, fans, and a day bed on the deck.
