Experience & Activities:
At Sesfontein Guesthouse, guests are treated to a rural lifestyle and unique cultural experiences. The guesthouse is surrounded by local scenes such as donkey carts, and chickens announcing the start of the day. The guesthouse is also a stone’s throw away from the living quarters of the traditional Himba tribes, where guests can observe their daily routines and dwellings.
In addition to cultural experiences, Sesfontein Guesthouse offers adventures into nature, with excursions that lead guests in search of desert elephants and black rhinos. These outings venture into the Huanib River and are offered as a self-drive or guided option in a 4×4 safari vehicle.
Sesfontein Guesthouse is also the proprietor of the magnificent Ongongo Waterfall campsite at Warmquelle, located 25 km to the south. Guests can explore the campsite and choose from a variety of Sleep Out packages that let them spend the night under the starlit African sky.
The restaurant at Sesfontein Guesthouse boasts a menu heavily featuring local ingredients, from bananas and pumpkins to salads, onions, and carrots, most of which are grown in the property’s greenery. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering guests a taste of Namibian cuisine.
Sesfontein Guesthouse provides 10 standard rooms, designed for comfort and convenience. Each room comes with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, mosquito nets, and ample luggage storage space.
Each room is furnished with a double bed and the option of an additional single bed, catering to different group sizes. The interiors are tastefully decorated to provide a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, without sacrificing the functionality needed for a good rest after a day of exploration.
For the more adventurous guests, Sesfontein Guesthouse offers Sleep Out packages. Guests can experience sleeping in modern dome-style tents complete with comfortable beds consisting of a stretcher, a fully made-up bedroll, a duvet, and a pillow. For chillier nights, especially during winter, extra blankets are provided for guests’ comfort.
The Sleep Out packages are designed to provide guests with an in-depth experience of the Namibian landscape, and include activities such as Elephant Drives or Rhino Tracking. Each package includes a night out in the wilderness, with staff setting up the camp and preparing meals over a fire. The night ends with stargazing and listening to the sounds of the wild, before waking up to hot filter coffee or tea by the fire.
