Infused with the spirit of Damaraland, Damara Mopane Lodge combines the tranquillity of natural surroundings and the warmth of local Damara culture. Each day at Damara Mopane invites you to bask in the sunlight while marvelling at the labyrinth of walkways, or relax by the central swimming pool. The lodge incorporates sustainable practices, with each chalet being surrounded by its own small garden where vegetables and bright yellow sunflowers grow.

Every corner of the 60 Twin Bungalows, whether it be the exposed stone interiors or the verandas that open to spectacular views, fits seamlessly with the natural surroundings. As the day wanes, ascend to a viewing platform for a sweeping vista of the mopane woodland, illuminated by the setting sun – the perfect spot for a sundowner drink. Then return to the restaurant where a delicious supper of fresh vegetables and herbs awaits.

At Damara Mopane, each day is yours to explore the rich sandstone treasure of Damaraland. The lodge also offers a selection of activities, including self-guided hiking trails and birding walks, or a visit to the famed Twyfelfontein engravings nearby.

Accommodations:

Nestled amid the greenery and the enchanting semi-circle of the lodge, the 60 Twin Bungalows (incl. 5 x 2 inter-leading twin rooms & 1 x 2 wheelchair-friendly inter-leading twin rooms) make for an intimate yet communal experience. Each bungalow features air conditioning/heating, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a safe and a veranda. Tea/coffee facilities, a hairdryer and an umbrella are provided for your convenience.

Damaraland Suite: Built with eco-friendly concepts, this suite is designed for comfort and tranquility. The Damaraland Suite offers a unique experience with a private vegetable garden offering a bounty of fresh produce. In the evening, the veranda provides a perfect setting to witness the enchanting African sunset. This suite features an en-suite bathroom and comfortable bedding.

Family Bungalows: Keeping in mind the comfort of families, the lodge offers spacious family bungalows. These bungalows feature inter-leading rooms, allowing for easy access and providing families with a connected yet private living experience. The rooms come equipped with all necessary amenities to ensure a comfortable stay.
