Deep in the heart of the Great Rift Valley, beyond the volcanic lunar landscape surrounding the soda lakes of Magadi and Natron, deep in the heart of the Olkirimatian Conservancy, lies the oasis of Lentorre.
View on Google Earth
Nestled in a natural amphitheatre, Lentorre provides uninhibited views of Mt Shompole, Ol Donyo Gelai, and the active volcano Ol Donyo Lengai. The spring behind the lodge provides a constant source of cool fresh water and sustains a grove of venerable tamarind trees where the Olkiramatian warriors traditionally met as they came of age and elephants continue to gather to feed on ripe tamarind.
Experience & Activities
Lentorre Lodge is a family-owned and owner-operated property in Kenya, ideally suited for the exclusive use of the lodge and surrounding area by private families or groups. Olkiramatian Conservancy is a community initiative developed by the local Maasai community to protect their wildlife, traditional lifestyle, and their heritage.
From dawn to dusk, there are an array of exciting activities to help you get the most from your stay. For photographers, Lentorre Lodge has a focus on hides and aerial photography.
From a more conventional safari point of view, the lodge offers proper wild drives, incredible Maasai culture, walking and hiking, tracking, tubing a river, night drives, helicopter trips and some of the most incredible scenery and biodiversity. Don’t miss the chance to walk with baboons!
Accommodations
The lodge can accommodate just 16 guests across a family villa, a honeymoon villa, and four large villas that can be made up of either a double or twin bed configuration. Each villa is a separate, stand-alone structure with an un-spoilt view of the wilderness looking towards Shompole Mountain. Each villa has its own dedicated plunge pool, and incredible power shower, and some have a luxurious bathtub.
