Nights 2 - 4: Saruni Wild

Saruni Wild is a three tented camp elegantly and comfortably furnished with all the necessary luxuries of a wild yet classic safari. The camp is located in the heart of the Masai Mara plains, on the border between Lemek Conservancy and Mara North Conservancy.

Each tent is tastefully furnished and has all the essential amenities of a luxury camping experience, including en-suite bathrooms, hot showers and flushing loos, and spacious verandas with beautiful views. Surrounded by tens of thousands hectares of pristine, untouched wilderness, the camp has the most classic Masai Mara setting. The wildlife thrive right next to its tents.

Enjoy uninterrupted views, fire-lit meals under the vast African sky, guided bush walks and game drives led by experienced Maasai guides. The Maasai will host you at Saruni Wild, sharing their ancient wisdom, their local knowledge of the animals, and secret corners of the most iconic wildlife reserve in Kenya.

Set amongst teeming plains game, wildlife is found all around the camp, as the tents are situated within their natural habitat. The Mara-Serengeti eco system, of which the Mara North Conservancy and Saruni Wild is a part, has the highest density of predators and plains game of any wilderness in the world, and is home to the most thrilling, awe-inspiring natural spectacle on the planet – the Great Migration.

The camp offers day and night-time game drives, bush walks, bush meals and sundowners, stargazing, cultural visits to local village market and scenic flights or hot air ballooning. A day visit into the Masai Mara National Reserve can be arranged to experience the wildebeest river crossings. Visits to the Olchorro Rhino Sanctuary are arranged on request.

Nights 5 - 7: Saruni Rhino

Saruni Rhino is a three-banda camp. A banda is a rustic stone cottage with a thatched roof and canvas roll down windows. All bandas have flushing toilets, hot and cold water and natural stone showers. The bandas are situated along a spectacular dry riverbed lined with doum palms in a way that ensures maximum privacy for guests. The bandas sleep between two and four people. There is also a family banda with two bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. Banda’s have a beautiful private sandy terrace with chairs and tables overlooking the ‘lugga’, the dry riverbed.

Guests can enjoy the nearby waterhole visited daily by herds of elephants, impala, kudu, monkeys and much, much more, including the famous sand grouse spectacle. All this can be enjoyed from the comfort of a guest’s veranda, the dining and lounge area, the swimming pool or the popular day bed. You are guided by Samburu warriors who are passionate about their land and their culture, learning firsthand about their fascinating customs and traditions and their ancient, local knowledge – a truly authentic experience.

A totally unique and intimate tradition, the singing wells of Samburu remain an exclusive experience for guests at the camp. Home to The Fifty Wells, ‘Kisima Hamsini’, a series of fifty springs where local pastoralists take their livestock to water, digging deep in the barren and filling up wells to in-turn fill up holders and troughs, whilst singing a unique melody.

The Sera Community Conservancy is home to one of the most fascinating ecosystems and guests have the opportunity to explore unique experiences, such as the ‘Samburu Five’. The ‘Samburu Five’ are rare and endemic to the Samburu ecosystem. These consist of the Gerenuk, the Reticulated giraffe, the Somali ostrich, the Grevy’s zebra and the Beisa oryx. In addition there is an abundance of other rare species such as the leopard, striped hyena, Civet cat and wild dog, not forgetting a plethora of birdlife.

Nights 8 - 10 : Campi ya Kanzi

With wildlife roaming in abundance, massive granite outcroppings rising over rivers and lava flows that cut across the plains and a deep and mysterious cloud forest on the crest of the green hills, this landscape is truly one of the great wilderness experiences anywhere.

The 5-star luxury African safari includes beautiful accommodation in your choice of suites, tented cottages or a private villa. Each room is decorated with a delicate touch of African themed and rustic elegance.

Your personal Maasai tracker and guide will take you through an endless array of beautiful landscapes and sundowner spots that will surely leave you breathless. Nights 11 - 14: Manda Bay
