Experience & Activities:
Hwange National Park was once the royal hunting ground of the Ndebele kings. Today, it remains one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich landscapes.
In particular, Hwange is famous for vast herds of elephant and buffalo. Numbers often reach into the hundreds. As a result, sightings feel dramatic and unforgettable.
Furthermore, Hwange offers excellent predator viewing. Lion, leopard, and African wild dog occur regularly. In addition, over one hundred mammal species and four hundred bird species thrive here.
Importantly, The Hide is located on its own private concession. This five-square-kilometre area lies within Zimbabwe’s largest national park. Consequently, the range of activities extends well beyond standard game drives.
Firstly, guided walking safaris offer a deeper bush experience. Here, the focus shifts from the Big Five to personal connection and detail.
Later, evening sundowners ease guests into night drives. Afterwards, nocturnal safaris reveal wildlife rarely seen during daylight hours.
For something truly special, guests can sleep out at The Dove’s Nest. This immersive experience brings the bush to life after dark.
Meanwhile, the famous waterhole hides remain a highlight. They provide exceptional photographic opportunities throughout the day.
Children aged ten years and older are welcome at The Hide. Families with younger children are accommodated at Tom’s Little Hide or The Private Hide.
