Set within a 10,000-hectare private concession in a remote and largely untouched corner of Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, Verney’s Camp enjoys a truly privileged position. Nestled in a natural amphitheatre and fringed by mature teak forest, the landscape gently opens onto an impressive permanent waterhole. As a result, the camp overlooks one of Hwange’s most active wildlife gathering points – particularly renowned as the playground of the park’s iconic elephant herds. This secluded setting not only enhances the sense of exclusivity but also delivers exceptional, front-row wildlife viewing throughout the year.

Accommodation:

Guest accommodation at Verney’s Camp comprises 10 elevated safari tents, thoughtfully interlinked by timber walkways. These include eight double tents and two family tents, all discreetly positioned along the treeline and spaced generously apart to ensure privacy and tranquillity.

Each tent is tastefully furnished and features an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet, twin washbasins, and a shower. Importantly, every room enjoys uninterrupted views over the waterhole, allowing guests to indulge in a relaxed ‘armchair safari’ during quieter moments of the day – a true luxury in Hwange’s wild heart.
