The accommodation suits different ways of travelling, from couples seeking time together in the bush to families sharing their first safari and groups wanting the privacy of their own villa. Suite guests share the central lodge pool, while each villa has a private plunge pool, a dedicated team and its own safari vehicle and guide.

Between game drives, the main lodge offers inviting spaces to relax, with open decks and comfortable lounges overlooking the surrounding bush. Settle in with a book, cool off in the pool or gather for a drink as the day draws to a close.

Experience & Activities

Game Drives

Morning and afternoon game drives explore Madikwe’s varied landscapes with experienced guides. Wildlife sightings, birdwatching and photographic opportunities shape each outing, with time to appreciate the smaller details of the reserve along the way.

Terrapin Hide

The water-level Terrapin Hide remains a highlight for photographers and wildlife enthusiasts. Accessed through a tunnel, it offers a discreet vantage point for watching animals and birds visiting the waterhole. Its low position creates opportunities for eye-level photographs and quiet observation.

Naledi Sleepout

For a different perspective on the bush, the Naledi Sleepout offers a night beneath the stars on an elevated platform overlooking a waterhole. A canopied queen-size bed, private KolKol hot tub and outdoor shower add comfort to the experience.

Walking & Conservation Experiences

Guided bush walks offer a closer look at the tracks, plants and smaller creatures often missed from a vehicle. Walks require advance arrangement, depend on the availability of a qualified trails guide and carry an additional charge. The minimum age is 16.

Conservation experiences may also be arranged in advance, subject to available projects and additional costs. These offer an opportunity to learn about the work involved in protecting Madikwe’s wildlife.
