And while Marataba Safari Lodge’s stone and canvas Suites may look ‘down to earth,’ they are anything but basic, with all the modern features included.

Within this 21,000-hectare piece of unspoilt Africa, luxury is in the experience of life’s great treasures: space, a preserved natural wilderness, and enriching human connections. Enjoy game drives with professional field guides, specialist hiking trails, sunset water safaris, or a night under the stars in your own treehouse. 

In this spectacular setting, you can spot the largest colony of endangered Cape vultures, see rare plant species of yellowwood and cedar trees, ancient cycads, and fern trees and tick off abundant bird species from your list. For inquisitive kids, there’s the added benefit of the Mack & Madi Kids’ Adventure Safari Club Eco Garden kids’ entertainment and education area – the centre of the fun and games. 

Accommodations          

• Tented Suites :The eleven two-sleeper Tented Suites are contemporary chic but still manage to capture the essence of classic ‘out of Africa.’ Each is en-suite with a king-sized bed, fully-stocked minibar, freestanding bath, and outdoor shower. The suites all feature a shaded deck raised on stilts to make the most of the bush views. 
• Family Suite: Each of the four suites includes a second children’s bunk-bed room kitted out just for them and with its own en-suite (including a shower). This section is separated from the main bedroom, giving parents (and kids) their own space. These suites are not on stilts to ensure the safety of young guests.
