Your next destination will be Mozambique’s magnificent coastline with plenty of coral reefs to explore! Take a quick charter flight from the Lodge’s airstrip to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to connect via scheduled flight to Vilanculos in Mozambique. Only a short 20-minute drive from Vilanculos International Airport, Santorini Mozambique is conveniently located on a beautiful tidal beach just outside of the busy fishermen’s town. Inspired by the Greek Isles, the multilevel 5-star Villa offers dreamy ocean vistas and everything your heart desires including utmost privacy and security. Besides beach walks, non-motorized water activities or beach picnics for sunset, the efficient villa management team can arrange horse riding, camel safaris and other activities. Nights 1-4: Rockfig Safari Lodge
RockFig Safari Lodge features just six chalet-type suites, making it ideal for exclusive-use bookings for families or groups of friends. Although guests are always conscious of where they are, no stone is left unturned in the quest for comfort and luxury, with each suite featuring both indoor and outdoor showers, a private veranda ideal for romantic candlelit dinners, a minibar and a bath.
The open-plan kitchen is a favourite with younger guests, who love to sit at the counter and watch their meals being prepared, while it’s hard to resist the pull of the fireplace in the lounge on a winter’s evening. Subtle touches of opulence are throughout, including the dreamy chandelier that hangs over the impressive, 4m-long table, which is perfect for shared meals and safari stories. Many of the pieces of furniture in the lodge were commissioned from local artisans, while the colours take inspiration from the Rockfig tree and the area’s lovely lichen-spotted rocks.
Rockfig Safari Lodge offers morning and afternoon game drive activities, with the afternoon drive extending into the evening with a spotlight for viewing of nocturnal creatures. The custom-built vehicles are first class and a 4 guest per vehicle policy is enforced to ensure each guest has a window seats and plenty of space on the vehicle. Groups or families are offered their own vehicle and can thus have more per vehicle if they wish. Armed walking safaris are also offered at Rockfig which cannot be recommended highly enough!
Nights 5-8: Santorini Mozambique
Santorini Mozambique has five majestic en-suite bedrooms with private balconies, air conditioning and breath-taking sea views. If booked exclusively, the villa can sleep 10 adults or 8 adults and 6 children. The Villas main area consists of a lounge, a TV room, secluded patios and a courtyard with pool and dining space as well as a cocktail lounge on the roof. There is satellite television and a library in the media room as well as a computer with Internet access and wi-fi throughout the property. Enjoy fresh snacks, sandwiches and cool drinks out of the guest’s kitchen or let the resident chef spoil you with a delicious meal. The lower deck of the villa is ideal for private massages and a beautiful spot for romantic candlelit dinners.
