Touch down into Nairobi and start your journey in style with an overnight at the new, stylish One-Forty-Eight, located in the peaceful suburb of Langata, bordering the Giraffe Sanctuary.
The next day your safari begins with a short flight to the Masai Mara as you arrive at Richard’s River Camp, an intimate, private and exclusive camp in the heart of the Mara North Conservancy.
This camp is for the discerning traveller, located in one the most productive areas of the Masai Mara. The Ngoyanai springs in front of the camp provide permanent water, drawing in large numbers of animals to the area around camp. This camp is also particularly known for its resident lion pride which can often been seen hunting right in front of the camp, and most always can be heard roaring during the night.
With only seven tents, this camp is ideal for couples, individuals as well as exclusive groups who wish to experience the Masai Mara in a personal intimate setting. The camp is also ideal for honeymooners and provide a special and private experience. The camp provides exquisite real food prepared from local fresh produce and is beautifully presented.
Richard’s River Camp offers day and night game drives, birding and scenic bush walks, sundowners, bush meals and cultural visits to a local Maasai Village nearby.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: One-Forty-Eight, Nairobi
On arrival into Nairobi, clear immigration, collect your luggage, meet a driver in the arrival’s hall and transfer to your hotel, One Forty Eight.
This beautiful little gem is located in the in the peaceful suburb of Langata, bordering the Giraffe Sanctuary. With only 8 rooms it’s the perfect place to rest and relax in tranquil surroundings. with warthogs, parrots, peacocks and monkey roaming freely through the lush gardens.
The boutique hotel provides guests with an intimate arty setting and great fresh food too!
Day 2 to 4: Richards River Camp, Masai Mara
The adventure begins today as you board a charter flight at Wilson Airport bound for the Masai Mara!
On landing at the airstrip your guide from Richards Camp will await you and you will game drive to camp in an open game viewing vehicle. Upon arrival at camp settle into you’re the luxury that is Richards Camp!
Richard’s River Camp was initially established as Richard and Liz’s ‘home away from home’ in 2006 when their son Willoughby was born. Perfectly situated on the banks of the Njageteck River in the private Olare Orok Mara North Conservancy, the camp allows for total privacy and exclusivity. The Ngoyanai springs provide permanent water, drawing in large numbers of animals to the area around camp. This camp is also particularly known for its resident lion pride which can often been seen hunting right in front of the camp, and most always can be heard roaring during the night.
Your days at Richards River Camp are spent embarking on morning and afternoon game drives with your professional, English speaking guide as you explore the Mara North Conservancy with its abundance of wildlife. Spend time out on foot walking with local Maasai Warriors, visiting local villages and learning about their cultural. Day visits to inside the National Park can be arranged for those wishing to experience the wildebeest crossing the Mara river when the migration is in the area. Night-time game driving and going off road to an exceptional sighting enhances the overall game viewing experience immensely!
At an additional cost a hot air balloon flight over the savanna can be arranged, a magical experience and must do for most guests!
With only eight tents, this camp is ideal for individuals as well as exclusive groups who wish to experience the Masai Mara in a personal intimate setting. Beautifully appointed with furnishings and fabrics collected by Liz on her travels – the result is a casually luxurious tented camp, combining exceptional wildlife with a contemporary ‘Out of Africa’ experience. There is one family tent that can sleep up to 8 people and there is also a honeymoon suite.

The management couple, Finlay Marrian (born and raised in Kenya) and Hannah Geddes (originally from England but has been living in Kenya for the past five years) will welcome you with warm Kenyan hospitality!
