Cha Cha Metsi Camp is set within a community concession in the Okavango Delta, overlooking the permanent waters of the Gama Tau Lagoon. Hosting a maximum of twelve guests, the camp delivers a deeply authentic safari experience rooted in connection, conservation, and community. From the start, the philosophy of “Touch the Earth Lightly” shapes every element of the camp.

Cha Cha Metsi Camp sits 35 kilometres east within the same concession as the Okavango Delta mobile routes, allowing continued collaboration with the same local communities. As a result, guests enjoy a safari experience that feels meaningful as well as immersive.
The camp overlooks the Gama Tau Lagoon, known as the gathering place of the lions, and forms part of the Santantadibe River system. This setting creates a constant flow of wildlife through the area. In addition, Marieke’s personal touch is evident throughout the camp, with family antiques and heirlooms creating the feeling of a welcoming private home rather than a traditional lodge.
The central dining tent serves as the heart of the camp. Here, guests gather to share stories, reflect on sightings, and enjoy meals inspired by African cuisine. Meanwhile, living spaces along the water’s edge invite guests to slow down and absorb the rhythm of the Delta.
Experiences & Activities:
Cha Cha Metsi offers a varied and flexible activity schedule. Game drives explore a diverse landscape of wetlands, mopane woodland, and open acacia savanna. This diversity supports abundant wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hippo, zebra, and impala, as well as resident predators.
Guided walking safaris allow guests to experience the Delta on foot, focusing on tracks, plants, and smaller details often missed on drives. When water levels permit, mokoro excursions glide through lily-filled channels, led by local polers from nearby communities.
In addition, guests can enjoy horseback safaris for experienced riders, offering a rare and exhilarating way to explore the Delta. A highlight for many is the game drive to Lion Island, where leadwood, jackalberry, and acacia trees create prime habitat for predators.
