Ol Donyo

The legendary Ol Donyo Lodge lies embedded in a dense forest at the foot of the Chyulu Hills. The uniquely fascinating area is between Tsavo East and Amboseli National Park and overlooks Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro.

All of the lodge’s suites and villas have been individually designed so that none are alike. However, they all follow the same principle of the fusion of luxurious interior life with the great outdoors.

There are 6 suites and a 2 bedroom family unit. Each has a magnificent living and dining area and offers an almost fluid transition from inside to outside. Each also offers a private swimming pool on their adjacent veranda and intimate ‘star beds’ can be set up on their private roof terrace, so you can appreciate the beauty of sleeping under a canopy of twinkling stars.

Aside from observing the wildlife from your veranda, early morning or late evening game drives in an off-road vehicle can be arranged. Even more exciting is viewing the game from the back of a horse. Thanks to the well-trained and experienced safari horses at Ol Donyo, these rides are suitable for all, from beginner to advanced riders. Mountain bike tours and bush walks with picnic breaks in the wilderness can also be organised.  For the perfect end to an exciting day in the wild arrange a relaxing massage for a nominal extra charge.
